Proposed 4% cuts each year for next 2 years angers members of student body, community activists
Hundreds of students protested budget cuts at the University of Manitoba Tuesday afternoon.
Close to 200 faculty members and students gathered to challenge the U of M's plan to cut its budget by four per cent each year for the next two years.
The university said it needs more money to pay competitive salaries to junior staff, and that means cutting costs in other areas.
The university is still waiting on the province to determine how much funding it will receive for 2015.
