St. Boniface house fire sends firefighter to hospital

A firefighter was taken to hospital in stable condition after a house fire in St. Boniface Saturday night.

Fire tore through attic, roof of home on Hebert Street before fire crews could extinguish blaze

A firefighter was taken to hospital in stable condition after a house fire in St. Boniface Saturday night.

Crews were called to a 1½ storey house on Hebert Street at about 6:30 p.m. after reports of a fire.

The fire managed to tear through the home's attic and roof before firefighters could extinguish the blaze. No one was home at the time.

Officials have not released any details on how the injured firefighter was hurt.

A damage estimate hasn't been released. It isn't yet known what caused the fire.
