Scouts ex-leader faces child pornography charges
Stuart Garrett Young already charged with sexual assault
A Winnipeg man who led an outdoor program for Scouts Canada has been charged with making and possessing child pornography.
The latest charges against Stuart Garrett Young, 39, were filed in February, according to court documents obtained by CBC News.
Young already faces charges of sexual exploitation, sexual assault and voyeurism that were laid last year.
The sexual exploitation and sexual assault charges are from alleged offences dating back to a period between May 2009 and May 2011.
Young had been a volunteer with Scouts Canada for 14 years at the time he was first charged in August, 2011. He was working on an outdoor program for youth between the ages of 14 and 17.
Police have said Young met the alleged victims through the organization, but they believe the alleged assaults did not happen at Scouts events.
Young was also charged in December with voyeurism for allegedly videotaping and watching another male without his knowledge, according to court documents.
At that time, Young was charged additionally with failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking.
Young had also worked as a teaching assistant at Vincent Massey High School.
He is no longer associated with the school or Scouts Canada.
