RCMP ask for help in finding Fisher Branch woman

RCMP have reissued a plea for information to help find Nancy Joyce Swenty, 33, of the rural municipality of Fisher.

RCMP have reissued a plea for information to help find a missing woman from the Fisher Branch area.

Nancy Joyce Swenty, 33,  of the Rural Municipality of Fisher in the province's north Interlake region was last seen about 5 p.m. on July 27 at her home. Police say she was wearing a black "Co-op" jacket, a black and white zebra print shirt, black pants and black shoes.

The following morning, the RCMP detachment at Fisher Branch was advised that Swenty had failed to arrive at a meeting, had not reported to work and could not be located.

It had been believed that Swenty, who is five foot three, 150 pounds with brown eyes and long, light brown hair, was travelling to British Columbia with Russell Gordon McDiarmid, 51, in her red pickup truck.

The Mounties said July 31 that McDiarmid had been located. Swenty's truck was found in the Fraserwood area that same day.

Police ask anyone with information about Swenty's dissappearance to call RCMP in Fisher Branch at 204-372-8484 or Manitoba Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
