Mighty Malicious X Delicious, Winnipeg Pass, and Spark Rentals Inc., are the latest entrepreneurs selected through an application process as part of the Part of the Launch It! Retail Incubator.

Launch it! started as a pilot program in 2014, gives entrepreneurs a chance to operate a pop-up store for three months in downtown — gaining first-hand experience in running a mini-retail outlet and testing out their products and services to the public.

Winnipeg Pass is a package of all-inclusive experiences available for one low price, the company says.

"Throughout the year we have different passes on sale to bring customers different experiences. Get access to museums, festivals, leisure activities, nature, attractions, heritage sites, tours, and so much more [with the Summer Pass].

"Winnipeg Pass, working to connect locals and visitors to all of the amazing experiences Winnipeg has to offer."

Comprised of two young entrepreneurs with a passion for art, music, and fashion.

A new start-up focused on providing "the best rental experience" for PA systems, LED dance floors, LED curtains, and other DJ lighting and effects equipment.

"Spark Rentals Inc. is suited for those looking to add a spark to their wedding, social, house party, graduation party, cultural event, or other unique event, who will find browsing SparkRentals.ca to be an easy and informative process that lets them focus on what matters, enjoying their event," the company states.

As part of Launch it!, headed up by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, participants get:

  • Rent-free storefront space to pilot and sell their products and services.
  • Connections to business support services who can help with everything from grants to business plan development.
  • Networking opportunity with other entrepreneurs.

In the coming months, additional Launch It! shops will be set up throughout downtown Winnipeg.
