The U.S. TV personality has been posting updates about her visit on Twitter, the online social network.

The most recent note, from Saturday, said she was on a tundra buggy, heading into the park to look for bears.

Helicopter pilot Daryl Ressler flew Stewart to Cape Churchill for the park tour.

"There's actually a buzz going on," Ressler said of the famous visitor. "When she showed up, people were stopping her on the street and asking for her autograph and stuff like that. It's a pretty big deal. She's a fairly big celebrity to come to Churchill."

Wapusk National Park is dedicated to protecting polar bears.
