Ecole Lagimodiere in Lorette is expanding its child care centre to accommodate 26 more children.

The school's existing child-care facility, Les Chouettes de Lorette, will get eight new infant spaces and 18 preschool spaces.

According to provincial officials, the project will also create space to add a new classroom to Ecole Lagimodiere.

Provincial officials would not provide an estimated cost for the project.

Officials said the process has been approved for design and construction, but because it hasn't been put out for tender, revealing how much money has been budgeted could interfere with the bidding process.

Construction is expected to begin in summer 2016.
