Lights out in Winnipeg's West End due to transformer explosion

Reports of a transformer exploding has left Winnipeg residents in the West End without power Sunday afternoon. 

A representative for Manitoba Hydro said the outage is reported to be affecting an area bordered by Balmoral Street, Sherbrook Street and Maryland Street.

It is not known how many customers are affected at this time or when the power will be back on.
