Jets' Perreault likely out until end of regular season
Winnipeg Jets' Mathieu Perreault will likely have to watch from the sideline as his team plays out their final 23 games of the season.
The team has not said anything about the injury, other than it is a lower body one. Perreault was seen wearing a medical boot on his left foot after the game, however.
The Jets also lost newly-acquired forward Drew Stafford to an upper-body injury in the third period of the same game. He is listed as day-to-day and expected to skate with the team on Thursday.
There is no word on whether he will play in Thursday's game in Washington against the Capitals.
Perreault, with 18 goals and 36 points in 55 games this season, was on pace for his best-ever NHL season. He had a four-goal performance last month when the Jets trounced the visiting Florida Panthers, 8-2.
In Perreault's absence, Winnipeg has recalled forward Carl Klingberg from the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.
