Industrial fire brings out hazmat crews

Fire and hazmat crews were called to an industrial fire on Church Avenue in Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Fire and hazmat crews were called to an industrial fire on Church Avenue in Winnipeg on Wednesday.

It broke out just before 1:30 a.m. at Cadorath Plating on 1438 Church Avenue.

Fire officials say the fire started in electrical rectifiers then spread to plastic lining, a vapour hood and wiring.

No damage estimate or cause of the fire is available, but there is smoke and water damage throughout the facility.

No one was hurt.

Cadorath Plating works with the province's aerospace industry.
