Multiple fire trucks were called to the 1200 block of Manitoba Avenue Sunday night after a blaze ripped through a vacant two-storey home.

Emergency crews arrived in the area of Manitoba Avenue and McNichol Street shortly after 10 p.m. after reports of a house fire.

Souksakhone Vongdara was driving through the area, pulled over and called 911 before recording the blaze on his phone.

A large crowd of neighbours gathered and watched as firefighters doused the blaze from the back of the building.

"There were lots of people [standing] there watching the flames going up high," Vongdara said.

Flames were still shooting out of the house at 11:30 p.m.
