Horse and buggy hit by car on Manitoba highway

A buggy being pulled by two horses was struck by a car on Highway 6, north of St. Laurent, Man., Friday night, sending three people to hospital with undetermined injuries. The horses were not hurt.

According to RCMP, the collision happened around 7:45 p.m. CT.

The three people taken to hospital were adult men in the buggy.

There were also three people in the car. Only one of them required medical treatment and was looked after by EMS at the scene.

Police said the horses were temporarily turned loose in an adjacent meadow.

The crash was under investigation.

St. Laurent is about 80 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
