The Green Party has a candidate in the upcoming Fort Whyte by-election.

Donnie Benham also ran in Tuxedo in the 2011 provincial election.

Benham works in security at the airport and is the son of former Winnipeg city councillor Donald Benham.

Benham is calling for Conservative opponent Brian Pallister and all MLA's to support the Green Party's proposed private member's bill, the Honesty in Politics Act.

The bill would require MLAs who quit between elections to give back all government contributions to their pensions, with interest.

Brian Pallister has taken over the leadership of the PC Manitoba party from Hugh McFadyen, who announced his resignation soon after learning his party had lost the last provincial election.

Bob Axworthy is running for the Liberals and the NDP candidate is Brandy Schmidt.
