Winnipeg Harvest food shortage prompts call for more donations
Influx of newcomers adds strain to food bank's ability to feed those in need, Harvest officials say
Winnipeg Harvest is banking on the generosity of Manitobans to help it through its current food shortage.
The food bank says a recent influx of refugee families into Manitoba has put a strain on its ability to feed people in need.
Rice and canned soup, fruit, vegetables, beans, peas and lentils are among the items food bank staff say they urgently need.
"Please help us stock our shelves for these families," a spokesperson with Winnipeg Harvest said.
