Two women were sent to hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire in Winnipeg's West End.
Crews were called to a fourplex in the 800 block of Victor Street at about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The fire started in a basement suite.
The condition of the women, who got out of the suite on their own, is not believed to be serious.
A dog and three cats, however, needed rescue and some had to be revived by firefighters.
Damage from the fire is estimated $300,000.
The cause is under investigation.
