A woman is in stable condition in hospital after being injured by a fire in Selkirk, Man., on Tuesday.

The fire, inside a plumbing business in the 900 block of Main Street, was spotted at about 6:30 a.m. CT by a person driving past the scene, police said.

The woman was located and transported to hospital with undetermined injuries, according to police. She was listed in stable condition by midday.

The fire was extinguished within an hour.

The provincial fire commissioner's office said the fire was contained to one showroom.

Damage is estimated at $100,000 to $150,000. Investigators said it was too early to say anything about a cause.

A resident who lives near the business told CBC News that the plumbing business is run by a local couple and their son.
