A fire caused about $250,000 in damage to a carpet store in Winnipeg on Wednesday night.

Crews were called to the 1000-block of Notre Dame Avenue just before 11 p.m.

The fire was quickly extinguished but the building had water damage throughout.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
