Extreme cold warnings for all of Manitoba

A brutally cold weekend is on the way for all of Manitoba.

The entire province is under an extreme cold warning.

Southern regions are experiencing windchills around 40. In the north, it's closer to 50.

And that's where we'll stay all weekend long.

But hang on. By Monday, temperatures spike to minus single digits everywhere but the far north.

Winnipeg's forecast high for Monday is –4 C.

But if you like the mild weather, you might want to take the day off, because we plummet again by Tuesday.

It could be worse. The record low for this day was set back in 1966 when it got down to –40.6 C.

And just in case you were wondering, the record high for this day was 6.1 C in 1930.
