Esso near Kenora, Ont., destroyed by fire
Esso gas station in Clearwater Bay burns to the ground Thursday
An Esso gas station and store in Clearwater Bay, Ont., west of Kenora exploded in flames Thursday afternoon.
Police and fire crews responded after the calls came in around 4:30 p.m., but the station was destroyed in the fire. No injuries were reported.
Members of the Kenora detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were still on the scene just off Highway 17 on Friday.
Ontario's Office of the Fire Marshal will investigate.
A nearby resident said the closest gas stations in the area are now Husky stations in West Hawk Lake and Kenora.
