Meth, marijuana, cocaine and hash seized in Melita, Manitoba RCMP say
Man, 38, faces multiple charges for trafficking and possession of drugs
A Manitoba man is facing a slew of charges after RCMP seized methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine and hash at a home in Melita.
RCMP were executing a search warrant in the community, 290 kilometres west of Winnipeg, when officers found the drugs and a firearm.
They found more than 680 grams of meth, 141 grams of weed, 56 grams of shatter, the name given a highly potent marijuana derivative, and a small amount of cocaine, police said.
Police arrested a 38-year-old man and he was charged with multiple counts of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.
He was also charged with assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats.
"These drugs would have had a profound effect in the community of Melita and the surrounding Westman area if this substance had been able to hit the streets," RCMP Sgt. Ed Riglin said in a news release.
