Derailment interrupts Via Rail services to northern Manitoba
Derailed Hudson Bay Freight train causes another interruption to Via Rail passenger services
Another derailment on a northern Manitoba railway line has forced an interruption of Via Rail passenger services between Thompson and The Pas, Man.
Via Rail said a Hudson Bay Railway freight train has derailed, but it's not clear when the derailment happened.
Passengers scheduled to travel on the affected routes will be offered alternate transportation, Via Rail said, adding that trains will continue to operate between Churchill, Thompson, The Pas and Winnipeg.
There was a derailment on the Omnitrax Canada rail line on June 3, forcing the suspension of passenger trains between Gillam, Man. and Churchill until mid-July.
