About Sharecuterie

Cassandra Carreiro is the Founder and CEO of Sharecuterie, an Indigenous, celiac and woman-owned artisanal charcuterie catering business.
Her love of charcuterie started when she was young. "My grandpa was actually a butcher in Winnipeg for over 25 years, so I have always had charcuterie and cheese in my life growing up. As I got older I started to become a bit of a foodie. Eventually, I started making my own boards when hosting for family and friends. One of my friends tried to convince me that it could be turned into a business."
Carreiro decided to pursue her dream of owning her own business during the pandemic, leaving behind a career in psychiatric nursing. Much like attending to the hearts and minds of her patients, she's now focused on nourishing her customers' bellies.

Starting a business during a pandemic has had its challenges, however, and delays in receiving certain products and the increase in the price of fresh food has made Carreiro grateful that the majority of her suppliers are local.
She explains, "Shopping small and supporting local has always been something that is important to me. When you shop locally, you are supporting someone's dreams, their family, and you are putting money back into your own community."
Carreiro says that one of the bonuses of sourcing locally includes the thrill of exposing her customers to new businesses. "I love that people have discovered local makers from my boards and then go on to support them. Plus, when you shop local, you can get fresher, tastier & more unique products than you can get in big box stores."
Her bestselling boxes include the Original Sharecuterie Board with adventurous accouterments and the Deluxe Meat Board, which can be tailored to feed two to twelve people.
The best part of Carreiro's charcuterie platters? Nobody has to fight over doing the dishes.
