A 34-year-old Brandon man apparently has some difficulty getting the message from police.

A security guard caught the man on Wednesday allegedly trying to steal $163 worth of merchandise from a business on Victoria Avenue.

The man was released from police custody with a promise to appear in court in April.

But just two hours after that, he was caught in the same store by the same security guard attempting to steal $150 of merchandise, police said.

The man was again charged for theft as well as breaching the conditions of two-hour-old release.

He was taken to the Brandon jail and kept in custody for a court appearance on Thursday.
