Alberta's Progressive Conservatives are promising big bucks to fix up post-secondary institutions.

The Tories say if they win the April 23 election, about $650 million will be distributed to five schools in a three-year capital funding commitment.

The money will go to NAIT, NorQuest College, Lethbridge College, the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University.

The party says such investments are critical to turning out the skilled workers needed to compete in the global marketplace.

The party says it has invested more than $3 billion in post-secondary projects over the past six years.
