4 nabbed in Manitoba pizza-delivery heist
A pizza delivery man in The Pas, Manitoba was lured away from a set delivery spot and robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning, prompting the arrest of four suspects RCMP said.
Police in the central Manitoba community said at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, they got a call from a pizza delivery driver who claimed two people robbed him of four pizzas.
Police learned he was initially supposed to deliver the food to a home, but got another call asking him to meet him on a nearby road.
RCMP said when he arrived at the meeting place, two males appeared and took the pizzas from his car. When he attempted to follow them, a gun was flashed and the delivery man immediately called 911.
Police then went to a home in the community and arrested three suspects.
Investigators then searched another home where a number of items were recovered — including the stolen pizza boxes, RCMP said.
The search also netted stolen goods from a previously reported break and enter, RCMP said.
An 18-year-old man was charged with robbery and two counts of breaking and entering. Three boys, one aged 15 and the other two 17, also face robbery and other charges.
Police said the gun used in the robbery appears to be a pellet gun.
