Two victims of fatal Hamilton Road crash identified

Two people are dead following a two vehicle crash on Hamilton Road, just east of Putnam.

Middlesex County OPP have identified the victims of a crash that killed two people on Hamilton Road just east of Putnam early Wednesday evening.

Police said an eastbound vehicle crossed into the westbound lane, causing a head-on crash.

The westbound driver has been identified as 77-year-old Rachelle Plowright of Dorchester. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was 39-year-old Michael Archer of Woodstock, said police.

Plowright was pronounced dead at the scene. Archer was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

Hamilton Road near the crash scene was closed for several hours to allow technical collision experts to conduct an investigation.

The probe is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, at around 6 p.m. Wednesday, is asked to contact Middlesex County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
