Teen arrested after $750K fishing boat fire in Port Stanley: OPP

The boat was fully engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived on scene.

A 19-year-old is in custody, but charges haven't been announced

A 19-year-old has been arrested following a fire on a commercial fishing boat in Port Stanley, according to Elgin County OPP.

The boat was fully engulfed in flames, said police, by the time emergency services responded to the harbour at 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators said nobody was hurt, and damage is pegged at around $750,000.

A 19-year-old was arrested and remains in police custody, said police, although no charges have been announced yet.

The Ontario Fire Marshalls Office is involved in the investigation.
