Suspicious fire destroys motorcycle shop in Dorchester
The damage to Lang's Off-Road is estimated to be more than $1M
The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a motorcycle shop and showroom in Dorchester and left its owners "shattered".
Police said they were notified shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday that Lang's Off-Road on Elgin Road was burning.
Damage to the store that sells motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles is estimated to be more than $1M.
"We're heartbroken," said owner Rob Lang in a social media post.
"Last night there was a fire in the building Lang's operates out of. Nearly everything is gone. The showroom is burnt out, and most of the shop is damaged. It's hard to even recognize our workspace today," he said.
The Ontario Fire Marshall was at the scene Friday and continues to investigate. The OPP are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Lang said they are working to rebuild, and while exhausted from the ordeal, are organizing with a neighbouring business to receive orders for their customers.
