Oakridge high school teacher charged with sexual exploitation
A 45-year-old teacher is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student
A 45-year-old London teacher has been charged with sexual exploitation of a young person.
London police say a teacher allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a student at Oakridge Secondary School.
Dustin Epp is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a young person.
Epp is listed as being part of the science department at Oakridge.
London police say they were contacted on Thursday and members of the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section launched an investigation. As a result, Epp was arrested on Friday and charged the following day.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 3. The allegations have not been proven in court.
The Thames Valley District School Board said the teacher was immediately suspended pending the results of the police investigation.
"Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service," the board said in a statement.
"Students with any concerns are asked to contact school administration. Thames Valley will not comment further on personnel matters."
