A woman jumped into the frigid waters of Long Point Bay on Tuesday to save her dog.

Norfolk County paramedics were called to the Port Rowan Marina around 1:15 p.m., police say.

They learned a woman's family pet had fallen into the water, and she called 911 asking for police and paramedics. Before they arrived, she jumped in and saved the dog.

Paramedics examined her and found neither she nor the dog were injured.

"The Norfolk County OPP is grateful that there were no serious injuries as a result of this incident," said Const. Ed Sanchuk. They're also "urging all residents to be aware of the dangers associated to cold water."
