51-year-old woman faces charges following convenience store robbery

A 51-year-old London woman is facing multiple charges in relation to a robbery that took place Saturday night at a convenience store in the city's east-end.

A 51-year-old London woman is facing multiple charges in relation to a robbery that took place Saturday night in the city's east-end.

The London Police Service allege the incident occurred at a convenience store at 2045 Dundas Street East. They said in a statement that at approximately 10:20 p.m., a woman wearing a mask walked into the store with her hood pulled over her head demanding money from the cashier.

She allegedly had a gun, which she was pointing, and made off with an undisclosed amount of money. 

Police say when they were contacted and given a description of the suspect, the accused was located and arrested nearby shortly before midnight. 

Police say a replica firearm was also seized and there were no reported injuries.

The accused now faces the following charges: armed robbery, pointing a firearm, disguise with intent, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

She is scheduled to virtually appear in a London court today.
