Police say body found in London, Ont., pond not likely result of foul play

London police say the body found in a storm pond in the area of Bradley Avenue and Jackson Road on Monday does not appear to be the result of foul play.

London police say the body found in a storm pond on Monday does not appear to be the result of foul play. 

Also, police said Tuesday the person who died is an adult man, but he has not been identified publicly as the investigation into the death continues. 

A passerby spotted the body in the water near Bradley Avenue and Jackson Road at about 12:20 p.m. on Monday and called 911.

The storm water pond, which lies on the east edge of the city, is surrounded by a walking path.

Members of the London Police Service's Major Crimes Section are in the early stages of the investigation and are assisting the chief coroner. 

A resident who lives near the pond told CBC News the body appeared bloated, as though it had been there a couple of days.

The investigation has been turned over the London Police Service's Major Crimes Section.
