London police officer facing a slew of charges, including sexual assault

A London police officer charged with sexual assault is now facing more charges.

London police said the 41-year-old officer was charged with sexual assault related to an off-duty incident that occurred on Nov. 17.

On Wednesday, police released a statement that said he is now facing two additional charges related to off-duty incidents in the city.

The officer is now charged with criminal harassment and breaching conditions of release.

Earlier this month, the same officer was charged with two counts of criminal harassment, making harassing phone calls and being unlawfully in a dwelling that stem from the Waterloo region.

Police said the officer's name will not be released to protect the identity of the victim. The officer and a female victim had been involved in a relationship, according to police.

The suspect, who served two years as a police officer, was arrested and released with conditions.​

He is suspended with pay as per the rules under Ontario's Police Services Act.

The officer is scheduled for court appearance on these charges on Dec. 21 and Jan. 4. 

The officer is facing the following charges:

  • Sexual assault
  • Breaching conditions of release
  • Three counts of criminal harassment
  • Making harassing phone calls
  • Being unlawfully in a dwelling
