A 36-year-old London man is facing firearms-related charges after a gun was seized during a traffic stop in the 800-block of Exeter Road.

Officers pulled the vehicle over after receiving information that a woman wanted by police was possibly in the car. During the stop, officers said the passenger was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.

As a result of the investigation, the man was charged with possessing a prohibited firearm without registration, possessing a restricted firearm with ammunition, and possessing a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

The accused remains in custody and appeared in a London court Thursday in relation to the charges.
