London woman charged with drug trafficking inside Milton courthouse
The woman's cellmate allegedly overdosed on fentanyl leading to the arrest
A London, Ont. woman in custody west of Toronto has been charged with allegedly dealing drugs inside a courthouse jail.
Halton regional police say they learned about the alleged trafficking on Monday after the suspect's cellmate overdosed on what was believed to be fentanyl.
Officers at the Milton courthouse were able to revive the woman after administering naloxone, and she later recovered in hospital.
Investigators allege the 34-year-old suspect was able to get narcotics inside the prison by concealing them before her arrest. She has been charged with drug trafficking.
Police say the suspect was already in custody awaiting a bail hearing for charges including possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime.
