Tecumseh, Ont. truck driver charged in Highway 401 collision

A Tecumseh, Ont. transport truck driver has been charged with careless driving. The truck was travelling westbound on Hwy. 401 near the Currie Road exit when the 57-year-old driver lost control resulting in the truck and trailer flipping on its side, blocking all westbound lanes.

A Tecumseh, Ont. transport truck driver has been charged with careless driving.

On Wednesday, at 6:27 p.m., Elgin County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision involving a transport truck.

The truck was travelling westbound on Hwy. 401 near the Currie Road exit when the 57-year-old driver lost control resulting in the truck and trailer flipping on its side, blocking all westbound lanes.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital for further treatment.

Highway 401 at Currie Road was closed for 5 hours as a result of the accident and truck removal.

The truck's trailer is being removed today and OPP are warning drivers to expect delays in the area.
