House fire on Oxford St. causes morning traffic headaches

A house fire shut down a busy stretch of Oxford Street east Tuesday morning cause some traffic delays for drivers. 

The investigation into the cause of the fire is still unknown

A house fire shut down a busy stretch of Oxford Street east Tuesday morning causing some traffic delays for drivers. 

The area was closed near McNay Street at about 7 a.m. for more than an hour. 

Fire officials said the damage was extensive but there were no injuries. 

Fire fighters from that area of the city were returning to work after several days off following the explosion on Woodman Street the week prior.

The cause of the fire is unknown and a spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing.
