Driver charged after pedestrian struck in Listowel

A 30-year-old Brussels man has been charged after a pedestrian was struck while crossing the street in Listowel on July 24.

The driver has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian

A 30-year-old Brussels man has been charged after a pedestrian was struck while crossing the street in Listowel on July 24.

Just before 8:30 a.m., first responders were called out after a 17-year-old pedestrian was struck on Main Street, at the intersection of Wallace Avenue North. 

An investigation found the female pedestrian had been crossing westbound when the truck turned northbound and caused the collision. 

The 17-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the driver of the pick-up truck wasn't injured. 

The driver has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
