Charges laid in crash that killed London pedestrian

Charges have been laid in relation to the death of a pedestrian in a hit and run collision.

The crash took place near the intersection of Wellington and Southdale roads

A man is facing charges after a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car and the driver left the scene of the crash. 

Emergency crews were called to the area of Wellington Road and Southdale Road East around 5:20 p.m on Friday.

Garnet Prydie, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving of a conveyance causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death. 

He is scheduled to appear in court today in relation to the charges.
