An early morning robbery Monday at a convenience store in the east end of the city has led to charges, according to London police.

At around 3:20 a.m., police said a suspect entered the shop at 487 Hamilton Road. That's the address of a Mobil gas station.

Police said the individual grabbed a number of things, demanded them from the cashier while armed with what was believed to be a gun, and fled the scene.

The victim called 911.

Police said the suspect was found nearby, and officers seized an airsoft style gun.

A 24-year-old from London is charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and using a firearm while trying to commit an offence.

The victim wasn't hurt, said police.
