Three bodies have been removed from a burned out home in Chesley, north of Walkerton.

Firefighters initially found one body and 2 others were reported missing.

But Chesley Fire Chief Robert Bell says 2 more bodies were recovered at around 9 o'clock Monday night.

"All three bodies were removed from the scene last night and turned over to the coroner," said Bell.

"Fire crews are expected to be at the scene today to focus on the cause of the fire."

Police said firefighters were called to a house fire on Fifth Avenue SW at 2:20 a.m. on Monday.

Flames tore through the two-storey home in the middle of the night and spread to another home. The house where the fire started was gutted.
