Lepreau down again

More trouble at Point Lepreau. It was supposed to be back on line April 8 but NB Power now says the nuclear plant has been shut down again.

N.B. Power says a problem developed in the heavy water pressure system during the start up procedure. The utility halted startup on orders from the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

N.B. Power says equipment responded as it was supposed to and there was no danger to the staff or the public.

Point Lepreau was shot down March 5 so repair crews could find and fix a leak on an outlet feeder pipe. Subsequently, two more feeder pipes were found to have similar problems. They were all replaced. N.B. Power has not said when it intends to resume operation.
