Man arrested after daylight armed robbery at Sussman's in Arthur

Wellington County OPP say an 18-year-old man is in custody after a robbery Monday morning at Sussman's in Arthur.

Officers were called to the business located on Main Street just after 10:50 a.m.

Police said a man was carrying a handgun at the time of the robbery and was wearing a grey hoodie and a black coat with a hood covering his face.

Const. Cheri Rockefeller said a man turned himself into police just after 1 p.m. Charges are pending.

Police were not able to confirm whether a firearm was recovered.

Arthur Public School was under a hold and secure for several hours. The hold and secure was lifted at around 12:20 p.m., according to the Upper Grand District School Board.
