Derek Brick and Claude Hergott win open councillor seats in Wellesley Township

With the mayor and two councillors acclaimed, there were just two council races in Wellesley Township in Monday's municipal election. Derek Brick won in Ward 3 while Claude Hergott won in Ward 4.

Voters in Wellesley Township have elected two new councillors.

Derek Brick won in Ward 3, beating Mary Litchty 613 votes to 356.

Claude Hergott won in Ward 4, beating Robert Caskanette 423 votes to 297.

The results are unofficial until they're verified by the township's clerk.

Three positions in the township were acclaimed prior to Monday's municipal election:

  • Mayor Joe Nowak.
  • Ward 1 Coun. Shelley Wagner.
  • Lori Sebben in Ward 2.
