Saturday starts off being cloudy but will turn into mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. The winds from the west are 20 km/h and will gust to 40 km/h.

But temperatures this weekend will be above average. Saturday expect temperatures to rise above zero, as Waterloo region sees a high of 4 C.

Sunday is similar but has a low of –2 C overnight.

5 fun things for the weekend

Temperatures are nice and mild on Saturday for a couple of outdoor activities.

A porch party is happening at the central branch of Kitchener Public Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our morning show host Craig Norris will be there with local musicians like Amber McLean, Onion Honey and The Caraways. It's also free.

Ambre McLean served as the house musician for our Sounds of the Season kick-off and performed holiday favourites and original music. (Kate Bueckert/CBC)

For a bit more of an active outdoor event, there will be a scavenger hunt at the Huron Natural Area from 1 to 2 p.m.
