Weekend weather, gas prices and things to do for Sept. 15-16

Weather will be sunny and warm, there will be plenty to do and the gas prices will be — well, the gas prices will be high, but not too high.

A run down of things you need to know heading into this September weekend

Saturday morning fog should burn off early, making way for a mix of sun and cloud the rest of the day. 

The temperature is expected to rise to 27 C, feeling like 35 with the humidity, before dropping down to 16 C overnight. 

Residents of Waterloo region can expect much the same for Sunday: a mix of sun and cloud during the day with cloudy periods at night. 

The high on Sunday will be 26 C, with an overnight low of 17 C. 

Things to do 'round town

The Sept. 15-16 weekend is a busy one, with a wide range of activities in Waterloo region and Wellington county. 

There's a Royal Medieval Faire in Waterloo Park, the Guelph Jazz Festival in the Royal City and — if you don't mind driving a small distance — Applefest in St. George.

The Cambridge RedHawks are also having there home opener on Saturday at the Galt Arena Gardens in Cambridge. This is a new hockey team in town, so something you may want to check out.

Weekend gas prices

On Friday, the average prices around Waterloo had reached just over $1.26/L. The lowest price on Friday was shown to be $1.19/L at the Costco gas station on Erb Street W. in Waterloo.
