Police investigate after multiple shots fired in Kitchener
One man was taken to hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound
Waterloo regional police are investigating a shooting in Kitchener Monday night.
Officers were called to the area of Ottawa Street and International Place in Kitchener at approximately 10 p.m. after receiving reports of multiple shots fired.
Police say an altercation broke out between two groups of people in two separate vehicles.
"During the altercation, shots were fired and a subsequent collision occurred involving these vehicles," police said in a release.
No injuries were reported at the scene, but police said one male was later taken to hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He has since been released.
Police said the incident is believed to be targeted.
As a result, police are looking for a grey, four-door Hyundai vehicle in connection to the shooting, adding the vehicle will have damage on the passenger side.
Police said to not approach the vehicle if located and to call 9-1-1 immediately. Anyone with information is also asked to call police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
