Historic Waterloo Hotel in uptown to close this weekend

The Waterloo Hotel in uptown Waterloo will close this weekend, but it is unclear why or what will happen with the hotel moving forward.

The hotel has not given a reason for the closure and staff declined to comment

The Waterloo Hotel in uptown Waterloo will close its doors indefinitely Saturday.

A staff person who answered the phone Friday morning said the boutique hotel will close, but declined further comment and said no one was available to do an interview.

A note on the hotel's website thanks its "valued guests, staff, and vendors for their patronage and partnership."

No reason for the closure has been given and it is unclear what will happen with the hotel moving forward.

The Waterloo Hotel has been a landmark in uptown since 1890.
