Two teens charged for assaulting Tim Hortons customer in Fergus

A good samaritan was taken to hospital Wednesday night after trying to stop an attack on another patron inside a Tim Hortons in Fergus. Two teens have been charged with assault.

A 16 and 17-year-old have been charged with assault after allegedly attacking a person inside a Tim Hortons in Fergus.

The altercation happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Police were called after reports that two male teens were assaulting a customer.

"When a witness attempted to stop the attack, the assailants then attacked him," Wellington OPP said in a release. The good samaritan was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The two attackers fled the scene when police were called, but officers were able to locate them.

The two teens, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, face three charges each: Assault, assault cause bodily harm and resisting a peace officer.
