Tickets for special Armistice anniversary ceremony in Kitchener now available

A special event to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice of the First World War will be held on Nov. 11 at Centre in the Square.
Retired lieutenant-general Roméo Dallaire will take part in the event, which gets underway at 7 p.m. on Remembrance day. A multimedia presentation will feature local veterans who retell stories from their service, which were filmed at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
The event is free but requires tickets. Those tickets are available starting Monday morning and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
There will also be performances by the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Grand Philharmonic Choir and the Ceremonial Band Of The Waterloo Regional Police Service.
There will also be an exhibit from the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery and Kitchener Public Library. The art exhibit will open at 5:30 p.m.
